| Esta pesquisa procurou identificar a prática pedagógica do professor de Engenharia Agronômica, quais as concepções do processo de aprendizagem e em que medida o conceito teórico do professor é coerente com a sua prática. A prática pedagógica foi aqui delimitada como sendo o cotidiano do professor na execução de seu ensino. O público alvo foram os docentes e discentes do Curso de Engenharia Agronômica da Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz"- Campus de Piracicaba da USP. O método expositivo foi predominante, apoiado no uso do quadro negro e retroprojetor. O professor nesse método é a figura central do processo ensino-aprendizagem. A freqüência bastante acentuada em Congressos tem trazido uma atualização constante em termos de conteúdo. |

| Foram estudados os efeitos de formas de controle de plantas daninhas, uniformidade de distribuição das sementes e adubo, e proteção das plantas jovens aos insetos sobre o erro experimental. As formas de manejo foram organizadas em três experimentos no delineamento inteiramente casualizado, sendo cada repetição das formas de manejo composta por seis linhas de 5,0m de uma cultivar precoce de milho. O controle de plantas daninhas, realizado pelo método químico ou pela capina manual não proporcionou diferença significativa no erro experimental. A estimativa do erro experimental da forma de distribuição de adubo mais uniforme foi menor do que na forma desuniforme. | A retrospective study has been carried out on the possible relationships between the spat recruitment of mussels from the Pertuis Breton (France) and some environmental factors at different periods of the year. A significant negative correlation between recruitment and temperature has been found at two periods of the reproductive cycle; the first one coinciding with gametogenesis and the second one taking place just before spawning. But, no relation was noticed with temperature or salinity during the plantonic stage. These results are discussed. | This article examines some difficult decisions that agricultural economists must confront in doing research. Over many years, rules and standards have developed in agricultural economics that guide researchers, providing an underlying framework for research methods. This article deals with applying these seldom discussed guidelines to specific research situations confronted by agricultural economists. With this article, we hope to stimulate a dialogue among agricultural economists about the need for additional, appropriate methodological guidelines in agricultural economics research. |

| The incidence of benefits and costs from controlling rangeland grasshoppers on public grazing lands poses problems of economic efficiency and distributional equity. Public grasshopper control programs operate like public disaster assistance. However, grasshopper infestations are an insurable risk. This article proposes a rangeland grasshopper insurance program which reduces the economic inefficiencies and distributional inequities of the existing program. |

| This paper reports the results of a regression analysis of the relationship between planting date and corn yield. The study is based on experiments done at Agricultural Experiment Stations in Waseca, Lamberton and Morris, Minnesota. The experiments were conducted with several corn varieties. In addition to the date of planting, the estimated yield response equations include relative maturity as an explanatory variable. Other management practices included in the models are seeding and fertilization rates. Interactions among explanatory variables are estimated, also. |

| A pouca seletividade na preensão de alimentos, o manejo, além da própria localização anatômica predispõem os ovinos a uma série de lesões esofágicas que podem interferir na sua alimentação, produtividade e mesmo na sobrevivência dos mesmos. O desenvolvimento desse trabalho visou testar a eficiência do músculo esternomastóideo na vedação de ferida cirúrgica na parede esofágica, na sua capacidade de servir como leito para proliferação da mucosa e observação da cicatrização decorrente de lesões com dimensões de 2x5cm na parede do esôfago. Para esse experimento foram utilizados quinze ovinos, os quais foram divididos em dois grupos. | The Asian species of Euaspis are reviewed. Euaspis carbonaria of authors is shown to be composite: a lectotype is designated and the species with which carbonaria has long been confused is described as Euaspis edentata spec. nov. Euaspis lorenzae spec. nov. is described from the Philippines and E. wegneri spec. nov. from Bacan (Moluccas). Two species described by Pasteels from 'Arabia' are shown to be of Bornean origin. Euaspis bakeri (Viereck, 1924) is synonymized with E. strandi Meyer, 1922, for which a lectotype is designated (the type locality Sikhim given by Meyer for this taxon is apparently false), and E. impressa (Viereck, 1924) with E. polynesia Vachal, 1903. |

| This review examines the psychological literature on risk perception in terms of van Ravenswaay's proposal of a broad-based definition of risk perception that includes the three concepts of chance, harm, and context. The review further investigates the manner in which psychological researchers attempt to measure risk perception. It is suggested that the majority of psychological research on risk perception does not address van Ravenswaay's concepts in a comprehensive manner. This review of the psychological literature reveals that elements of van Ravenswaay's concepts are often employed as variables by psychological researchers, although not in a fashion similar to that suggested by van Ravenswaay.
